Help & FAQ

What is this?

Flashcard decks for computational linguistics and NLP students, made from textbook chapters and recent CC BY papers in the ACL Anthology. Every card cites the page or section it comes from.

How do I study?

Open a deck, read the question, then tap the card (or press Space) to see the answer. Mark it with Know it (K) or Review again (R); both move on to the next card. ← / → go back and forward.

Use the section menu to study one section, Shuffle to mix the order, and Hide known to see only what you still need to learn.

Where is my progress saved?

In your browser, on this device only. There are no accounts, so marks are not synced between devices, and clearing your browser's site data erases them. Clear my marks at the bottom of a deck resets that deck.

Does it work offline?

Yes, after a first visit. Decks you have opened stay available without a connection. On a phone, use “Add to Home Screen” to keep it like an app.

Is it free? What does “Subscribe” do?

Everything is free right now. Decks marked “Subscriber deck — free during early access” will be part of a subscription later (Subscribe — $1/month, billed yearly).

Subscriptions aren't available yet: the button only shows a notice. Nothing is charged and no personal data is collected.

No accounts, no cookies, no ads.

Can I reuse the cards?

Paper decks are adapted from CC BY papers; each deck lists its sources and their licenses at the bottom. For anything else, please ask.

Found a mistake? Have a question?

Write to me, and mention the deck and the card's question. Suggestions for new decks are welcome too.
